“I paint surfaces you can almost feel — layers of texture, quiet colour and light that turn a wall into something alive.”
Juliette L. is a European contemporary painter from France, now working between Paris and Hong Kong. From early sketchbooks to large canvases, her focus has always been on how light, colour and surface can change the mood of a room. Over the years she has moved increasingly toward textured abstract work, exploring what happens when paint is treated as something physical, not just visual.
Over the past decade she has developed a calm, tactile style: soft neutrals, warm stone tones, chalky whites and muted greys built up in multiple layers, then gently scraped back to reveal what sits underneath. Her compositions are minimal but not flat — the interest comes from depth, touch and the way light moves across the surface during the day.
She is best known for:
Textured abstract and Wabi-Sabi inspired pieces with rich, tactile surfaces
Layered neutrals and stone-like palettes that work effortlessly in modern interiors
Minimal, composition-driven works that add depth without visual noise
Large-scale wall pieces designed as quiet, sophisticated centrepieces for living rooms, bedrooms and hallways
